Description
TIFT COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - An investigation has been launched into a fatal crash in Tift County.
The crash happened at the intersection of GA-35 and Kell Road. Georgia State Patrol (GSP) says troopers were called out to the crash at around 1:12 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4.
At the time of the crash, GSP says the driver of a 2018 BMW X5 was waiting to turn left onto GA-35 while the driver of a 2024 Harley Davidson motorcycle was headed north in the left lane. The driver of the BMW failed to yield at the stop sign while making a left turn and hit the motorcycle with its left side.
Both vehicles came to rest in the area of the crash, GSP said.
The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from it and came to rest on the highway near the crash site. The driver was identified as Adam Caseres, 59, from Tifton, according to GSP.
EMS responded to the crash and attempted life-saving efforts, but Caseres died from his injuries in the ambulance while on the way to Tift Regional Hospital.
The driver of the BMW was not injured.
GSP said the Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (Troop H) is assisting with the investigation.
