IRWIN COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — A man was found dead in Irwin County on Wednesday, September 9, according to the county coroner.

Coroner Tim Chaney said the coroner’s office received a call around midnight Wednesday regarding a deceased male, believed to be in his early 60s, found dead in the roadway.

Chaney said the man was transported to Irwin County Hospital. The cause of death has not yet been determined, and the man’s identity has not been released.

Chaney said the family has been notified.
