VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) — An arrest has been made in connection to the shooting incident at Fin & Feathers in Valdosta.

The Valdosta Police Department (VPD) announced Tuesday that Richard Devonne Faulk, 28, was arrested on charges that he fired a handgun into the air during an argument.

On Nov. 29, VPD said an employee at Fin & Feathers called 911 to report a large crowd and a possible dispute in the parking lot and said he thought he heard a gunshot.

When officers arrived, everyone was dispersing, and no one appeared to know anything about a firearm being discharged, police said.

On Dec. 2, management at Valdosta Mall provided police with more information about the incident, along with evidence related to the case, according to police.

VPD said detectives investigating the incident were able to determine that several people were present in the parking lot, including Faulk.

He appeared to be arguing with multiple people while in possession of a handgun. He then fired the handgun into the air, resulting in people running into the parking lot.

On Dec. 8, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Faulk for:

• Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (felony)
• Reckless conduct

A be-on-the-lookout alert for Faulk was issued to law enforcement, VPD said.

On Dec. 9, deputies with the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop and found Faulk in the vehicle. He was arrested without incident.

After he was interviewed, police said he was taken to the Lowndes County Jail.
