ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — The man accused of threatening to open fire at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is scheduled to appear in federal court Thursday.

A pretrial conference for Billy Joe Cagle is set for 10:30 a.m. Cagle is being held in jail without bond.

During a pretrial conference, prosecutors and defense attorneys typically gather to discuss whether the case will go to trial and plan logistics, such as court dates.

Police arrested Cagle in October after his family members told officers that he had planned a shooting. He also allegedly made threats on a FaceTime call.

Cagle was taken into custody at the airport. Police say they found an assault rifle and ammunition in his truck.

Cagle faces federal charges of violence at international airports, interstate communication of threats and unlawful transport of firearms, court records show. He also has several more charges in Georgia, including terroristic threats and criminal attempt to commit aggravated assault.

Cagle has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
