Description
GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Three people were arrested on Sunday, Dec. 28 just after midnight after deputies with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) said they attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
Following the stop, GCSO said they recovered multiple firearms, along with felony amounts of marijuana, mushrooms and pills. Officials said several of the firearms recovered appeared to have been converted to fully automatic fire, commonly referred to as machine guns.
GCSO reportedly attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle at County Line Road and Highway 112. Officials say the vehicle failed to stop, drove through a residential yard and then re-entered the roadway, leading to a vehicle pursuit.
During the pursuit, deputies stated that handguns were being thrown from the vehicle. Deputies ended the pursuit by executing a PIT maneuver, and three occupants were reportedly detained without further incident.

“This is exactly the type of dangerous criminal activity we are determined to remove from our community. Fully automatic firearms and drugs pose a serious threat to our community. Let me be clear, if you flee from law enforcement in Grady County, we will pursue you, we will catch you, and you will go to jail. Running only adds charges and puts lives at risk.”
