LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — A man who graduated Saturday, May 23, from Lowndes High School was identified as a critically injured victim in a Tallahassee shooting that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The graduate’s name is Gavin Yates-Lyons.

Officials in Tallahassee said the shooting may have been the result of an “unsanctioned pop-up party.”

The shooting incident was reportedly at a parking garage. Yates-Lyons’ injuries were life-threatening, and he was taken to the hospital, according to Tallahassee Police.
Yates-Lyons had signed to go to Ball State in the fall to play collegiate football.

Officials said two others were shot and taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
