Description

DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) — A crash involving a semi truck occurred the morning of Friday, May 1, on Bowens Mill Road at Thompson Drive, according to the Douglas Police Department (DPD).

The semi truck caught on fire, which led to traffic delays, officials said.

The driver of the semi was able to escape, according to police. It is unclear if any injuries were reported in this incident.

The hood of a silver truck appears to have been badly damaged in the accident.

The scene, near the Walmart, was reportedly cleared around noon, DPD said. Police advised drivers to proceed with caution through the area.
