LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - On Thursday, March 6, 2025, a Lee County jury found Carlistra Tennille guilty of the November 2022 murder of Mario McCray.

Tennille was convicted of murder, aggravated assault family violence, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Following the verdict, Judge Jimmie Brown sentenced Tennille to life in prison with the possibility of parole after serving 25 years, according to the SWJC District Attorney’s Office.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Trevor Vanzant, with support from Senior ADA Cania Brown-Gordon, DA Office Investigators Renee Stewart-Lloyd and Miles O’Quinn, and Victim Advocate LeeAnn Turner.

The investigation was carried out by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Region 3 and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
