PELHAM, Ga. (WALB) - Pelham High School senior Ja’Kieria Frazier signed to play basketball at Thomas University.

Frazier will continue her basketball career 28 miles south at Thomas University. She is Head Coach Thomas’s first athlete from the Pelham girls basketball program to play at the next level.

“It’s a special moment because I love Coach Thomas,” Frazier said. “I’ve known her for like a while, ever since middle school. And we got a chance to grow a bunch together and I’m very excited for her.”

Frazier led her team in scoring with 21 points per game this season. She scored 468 points and surpassed the 1,000 career point milestone. When asked about the legacy she wants to leave at Pelham, she said she wanted to be remembered for much more than her scoring abilities.

“When they think about me, I want them to remember how humble I was, the athlete I was, the leader I was, and the role model I was to the younger students,” Frazier said.
