ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A mother is demanding justice after her son was killed in a fiery crash in Dougherty County in 2021. Those allegedly responsible have still not been held accountable.
17-year-old Jaden Robinson died July 19, 2021, when officials say two vehicles, one of which Robinson was a passenger of, were racing on Westover Boulevard.
The Albany Police Department (APD) said that while racing, the car Robinson was in collided with a speed limit sign and then a tree before going up in flames.
Charges are pending for both of the drivers involved.
Robinson’s mom, Wendy Hall, said that nearly five years later, she’s still getting the same run around when attempting to seek justice for her son.
“My baby died instantly in that car. My baby was burned in that car. I couldn’t see his face. I couldn’t kiss him for the last time. I couldn’t say goodbye,” Hall said. “It’s five years later, and they’re living their life. In the military doing different things that Jaden will never experience. It just has to be some consequences to what happened to him.”

At the time of the crash, the other two defendants were ages 16 and 17. The defendant who was 16 at the time is still in the jurisdiction of juvenile court.
Hall said she wants the two defendant’s to be held accountable for the decision they made on July 19th,2021 on Westover Boulevard, a well traveled road in Dougherty County.
“I know him going to prison or anybody else being convicted isn’t going to bring the person back, but at least there’s some accountability taken for what caused that person’s life,” Hall said. “It can’t be a slap on the wrist. I’m at the point where my highest priority is seeking justice for my son.”
Dougherty County District Attorney Greg Edwards said his office is working to try both defendants in Superior Court.
The grieving mother said she fought for her son while he was alive, and she’ll continue to fight for him after his death.
With her son dying due to two vehicles racing, WALB asked Hall what’s something she would say to someone who may think about doing the same thing.
“Think twice, think about it. You’re not just putting yourself in danger, you’re putting other people in danger,” Hall said. “It’s not worth it, it’s not worth it. At the end we all lose, even when they go to trial, they still lost. They have to live for the rest of their lives knowing that because of their actions, their friend was killed.”
