Description

NEWTON, Ga. (WALB) – A tragic crash in Baker County claimed the lives of four people early Sunday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

Troopers responded to the scene around 7:55 a.m. on Oct. 12 along Clear Lake Road in Newton. Investigators said the vehicle was traveling west when the driver crossed the center line, left the roadway, and struck an embankment before hitting a tree.

The impact was severe, and all four people inside the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

GSP identified the victims as:

  • Driver: William Cosby, 22, of Camilla
  • Passengers: Martin Cosby, 19, of Camilla; Richard Dollar, 22, of Newton; and Sierra Underwood, 23, of Sylvester

The crash remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT).
