Happy Wyatt, Georgia Grown marketing director, attributed the success to favorable weather and free admission for military personnel.

"The weather was beautiful. People were enjoying time outside. A lot of the time, there was no charge for the Hometown Heroes, the military,” she said. “Right now, with the military being furloughed, what's better than a free day at the fair? So, that was brilliant, and a great opportunity for them to get out as a family and sort of forget the stresses."

The fair also saw increased sales at the Georgia Grown store, with over 90 vendors contributing to $185,000 in sales over ten days. Wyatt expressed optimism for the future, stating, "Records are made to be broken, right? So, let's go ahead and say we want $200,000 dollars."

The economic impact of the fair is still being assessed.
