BALDWIN COUNTY, Ga. (WGXA) — A man is dead following a car accident in Baldwin County on Monday afternoon.

Georgia State Patrol says a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr was traveling east on Georgia Highway 22 at around 4:53 p.m. on October 13, when a 2017 Chevrolet Traverse failed to yield while turning, resulting in the front of the Lincoln striking the front left of the Chevrolet.

Both vehicles came to an uncontrolled rest in the north ditch of Georgia Highway 22, according to the report.

James Chester, 47, was driving the Lincoln. He was transported to Atrium Health Baldwin, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet, Pearl Kiefer, 83, and passenger, James Kiefer, 84, were flown to Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon with serious injuries.

Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation.
