Description
ATLANTA, Ga. (WALB) — Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper is urging residents in Bryan, Bulloch, Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty counties to watch for and report Yellow-Legged Hornet nests.
State officials say early detection is key to preventing larger infestations that threaten honeybees and other important pollinators.
A single undetected nest can grow into a colony containing thousands of hornets.
Residents who believe they have found a Yellow-Legged Hornet nest should contact the Georgia Department of Agriculture’s Plant Protection Division at [email protected] for identification and removal assistance.
