TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A video of the father of FSU football player Ethan Pritchard smashing the rock after FSU’s win over East Texas A&M has garnered thousands of views and reactions on social media over the weekend.

Ethan was shot a week ago Sunday night while visiting family in Havana.

Players donned wristbands with the number 35 to honor their teammate, who is still in critical condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Fans rose to their feet as FSU players carried Pritchard’s jersey to midfield Saturday for the coin toss.

Many players wore sweatbands to honor the freshman linebacker, whose shooting on Labor Day weekend came as Nole Nation was still celebrating a big win over Alabama just one day earlier.

Pritchard’s father stood on the FSU sidelines on Saturday in his place.

FSU head coach Mike Norvell highlighted the impact of having Pritchard’s father with the team.

“I know it’s so hard for anybody to have to go through, but he told me earlier this week, he said, ‘I know where my boy wants to be and so I’m going to go stand in his place for him.’ And to see the team and just the embrace for that, it’s special,” Norvell said.

A GoFundMe account set up to help the Pritchard family with mounting medical bills has now raised just shy of $125,000.

It includes donations ranging from $10 all the way up to $10,000 from the Norvell family’s Keep Climbing Family Foundation.

FDLE said on Monday that the investigation into who shot Pritchard and the motivation behind the crime is active and ongoing.

The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office told WCTV that Pritchard was shot inside a car at the Havana Heights apartments.

FDLE is asking anyone with information to call Big Bend Crime Solvers at (850) 574-8477.
