ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — School districts across South Georgia are bringing back free summer meal programs for children while school is out.

The Dougherty County School System will provide free breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under at select schools from June 2 through June 25. No registration is required. Review locations where meals will be available here.

For more information about Dougherty County’s summer meal program, contact the school’s Nutrition Office at (229) 431-1818.

Lowndes County Schools will also offer free meals at Lowndes High School from June 1 through July 30, Monday through Thursday. Meals must be eaten on site. To learn more, click here.

School officials said the programs help ensure children continue receiving nutritious meals throughout the summer break.
