Description
Former Ohio State long snapper Michael Roen McCullough, 25, is expected to appear in court on Tuesday for his arraignment.
McCullough was arrested Saturday on a second-degree felony charge of strangulation.
Court documents state that around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, McCullough and the victim, his live-in girlfriend, were driving home in his vehicle when they began to argue.
The victim stated that he broke her cell phone, punched her in the face multiple times, and grabbed her around the throat with one hand, pushing her against the window.
The victim told police she "could not breathe at all and felt panicked."
The victim lost consciousness and does not remember being driven home, court documents said. She regained consciousness when they parked in front of their residence.
The victim suffered a black eye, a cut and swollen lip and a bruise on her throat, police reported.
McCullough was arrested and booked into the Franklin County Jail on Saturday, August 30, where he awaits arraignment on Tuesday morning.
A graduate of Worthington Kilbourne High School, McCullough walked on as a long snapper for the Buckeyes from 2018 to 2020.
