WASHINGTON (TNND) — The former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch has been arrested on charges related to sex trafficking one year after explosive allegations from the BBC of exploitation at sex parties thrown by him and his British life partner.
Two other associates of Mike Jeffries were also arrested in connection to the case, a source confirmed to CNN.
An indictment alleges that between December 2008 and March 2015, Jeffries and his two associates engaged in a sex trafficking scheme where they would recruit men with model aspirations, the source added.
The BBC reported in 2023that Jeffries and his partner used “a highly organized network” involving “a middleman to find young men” for sex events, and eight men told the BBC “they were exploited or abused” at the events.
All three are expected to appear in federal court Tuesday and be arraigned at a later datein the Eastern District of New York.
Jeffries was the CEO of the popular clothing brand from 1992 to 2014.
