ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Early today, July 15, Dougherty County’s Precinct 14 was placed on lockdown as the Albany Police Department chased an individual on foot into the premises.
According to officials, the lockdown began around 12:28 p.m. and it was lifted at 12:32 p.m. once the individual was apprehended.
Dougherty County’s Precinct 14, located in the Albany High School Band Room at 801 West Residence Avenue, will be open an additional four minutes past the scheduled closing time pending a court order.
Voters arriving at the precinct will be allowed to cast a provisional ballot from 7 p.m. until 7:04 p.m. in an attempt to ensure all voters have the opportunity to cast their votes.
