EVERGLADES CITY, Fla. — A Florida man was awarded $10,000 after removing 96 Burmese pythons from Everglades National Park during the 2026 Florida Python Challenge.
Tom Rahill led all participants in the event, which was held over 10 days and aimed at raising awareness about invasive species.
907 hunters, 280 pythons removed across South Florida
A total of 907 participants from 30 states took part in the challenge, collectively removing 280 Burmese pythons from South Florida.
