The Federal Aviation Administration shared that the helicopter was a Bell 206, a helicopter used for commercial and government aviation.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it is also investigating.
Authorities did not immediately release the names of the people killed in the crash. However, several outlets have reported that a Siemens technology company executive, along with his wife and three children, was among those in the helicopter.
