TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - One person is dead, another is in serious or critical condition, and three others were “placed on trauma alerts” following a rollover crash on westbound Interstate 10 around 9 p.m. Friday, according to Florida Highway Patrol Master Cpl. Patricia Jefferson-Shaw.

According to the FHP, the crash happened near mile marker 205 between a Toyota and a Chevy. Two people were in the Toyota, and four to five people were in the Chevy at the time of the collision. The person who died was confirmed to have been in the Chevy, authorities say.

As of about 10 p.m., troopers are diverting traffic around the collision to exit 209 west on I-10 (US-90/SR-10/Mahan Dr.).

Cpl. Shaw said I-10 westbound from mile marker 204 to 209 and eastbound from mile marker 203 to 217 will be closed overnight. It is unclear when the roadway will reopen.

It is unknown how the collision unfolded, and the current condition of the other people involved in the wreck.
