COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said they have received multiple tips recently about illegal drug distribution in the community.
They said these tips resulted in a search warrant being carried out Friday, March 14.
The warrant was executed by deputies from the drug unit near Joe Ellis Road in Broxton, according to a CCSO press release.
The operation resulted in cocaine being uncovered and James Lee Gifford, 59, being arrested, the release said.
Sheriff Fred Cole said, “the ongoing efforts to eliminate drugs from the streets are greatly aided by community tips.”
He said that anyone involved with the production, sale or purchase of drugs in the county should expect to go to jail.
