Description
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - The cause of a Valdosta restaurant fire was determined to be electrical, and no injuries have been reported as a result of the fire, according to the Valdosta Fire Department (VFD).
VFD and other agencies responded to the scene at 1307 North St. Augustine Road on Sunday night around 9:15 p.m. to find the southeast side of the Fazoli’s restaurant engulfed in flames. Valdosta Police Department and South Georgia EMS assisted VFD with on-scene operations.
An employee told WALB at the scene that they were inside the building preparing to close when a customer pulled around through the drive thru and told them about the fire on the roof.
Fazoli’s managing partner, Nicholas James, said he wants to repay this good deed done by the customer saying quote “I thank you guys so much. Reach out to me. We would be more than happy to buy you guys some Fazoli’s when we’re back up and running.”
The fire investigator is scheduled to come out to the scene tomorrow to help determine a definitive cause of the fire.
