QUITMAN, Ga. (WALB) - The City of Quitman says firefighters responded Tuesday evening to a fire at Crown Laundry located at 604 N. Highland Road.

According to city officials, preliminary reports indicate the fire originated from equipment inside the facility. Crews from the Quitman Fire Department responded to the scene.

The city says the Brooks County Fire Department assisted under an automatic aid agreement, while the Valdosta Fire Department also provided support. Officials say the fire was successfully contained.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

City leaders thanked all responding crews for their professional and safe response. Additional updates are expected as more information becomes available.
