Description

LEESBURG, Ga. (WALB) - On this week’s edition of Restaurant Roundup, Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ located in Leesburg was featured. Owned by Jailyn Baggett-Quesada and her husband, Omar, the food truck received a perfect score on its food service inspection on Thursday, March 19 2026.

Open since the summer of 2023, the food truck serves an assortment of specialty hot dogs, like their popular chilli cheese hot dog and they also serve many sides like loaded fries.

Quesada says that although she isn’t a “hot dog gal,” she enjoys the hot dogs they sell.

“I am typically not a hot dog gal... but these hot dogs are one hundred percent delicious, and so I do have one every time I work just about.”

The food truck is currently operating on an “events only” basis, but that has not stopped it from serving the community in other ways.

“We don’t open every day; we used to, but we don’t anymore, so we do events only. If people call us and say, ” Hey, we need you at this location," we go."

Despite only being open for events, food safety and maintaining a clean environment are still important to Quesada.

We make sure that obviously our food is fresh, we make sure that our refrigerators and freezers are at the correct temperatures that they should be. We’re monitoring our food, throwing away food that we don’t use, and just making sure that things are cleaned and mopped down at the end of the day."

For many food trucks, especially those open daily, it is more likely for food waste to occur at the end of the day.

Quesada expresses that being open only for events has eliminated a lot of the food waste they were experiencing before.

“When we were open every day, it was a little harder because we had a lot more food waste that we were having to throw away. But since we’re just open for events, we’re able to kind of gauge how much food we can prepare and use, and it really cuts down on the amount of food waste.”

In the future, Quesada hopes to be open on a daily basis, and hopes that when that time comes, she will have a team to work alongside her and her husband.

Eventually, I hope to get to where we could be open every day and have a team because it’s important to have a team that you support, but that also supports you."

Quesada explains that in the summer, they could potentially open up daily, but if not, then there are other ways to try their food.

“We are at a lot of local and community events that are free, so people are more than welcome to come out and try the food then, so we’re hopeful.”
