ConnecticutPoliceWomanStepsonCaptivePhotosHouseKimberly Sullivan(WJAR) — Police in Waterbury, Connecticut, have released photos from inside the house where a man was allegedly held captive by his stepmother for 20 years.
The man, who is now 32, was discovered after crews responded to a fire in February. He said he set the fire in an attempt to escape.
Newly released photos showed the squalid conditions inside the house, with broken glass and cardboard boxes on the floor.
Photos also showed broken floorboards and plywood covering windows.
The stepmother, 56-year-old Kimberly Sullivan, has pleaded not guilty to several charges.
She is accused of keeping her stepson locked in a room since he was a child.
