WASHINGTON (TND) — More companies are starting to include benefits in job postings in an effort to try and attract more candidates. According to a new analysis by Indeed, nearly 60% of job ads now list at least one benefit.

"If you're offering benefits to your employees, you should absolutely have those listed on your job boards," said Maya Ratcliff, CEO and founder of Hawaii Fluid Art.

With 40 art studios across the country and 40 more on the way, Ratcliff said you can't open all those locations without employees. The company has prewritten job descriptions for each franchisee, highlighting benefits for candidates, including paid time off and healthcare.

We understand what employees are looking for," said Ratcliff.

Chris Kujawa, a chief human resources officer said in today's market, candidates have a lot of choices which is why employers need to do more to stand out.

"Companies need to do things to attract people beyond just your hourly salary but have other things that would either help attract people or retain them once they get in the door," Kujawa said.

Plus, Kujawa said some companies are getting even more creative, offering benefits that go well beyond what you would expect to see.

Weight-loss programs, you know, discounts and other types of perks that might help people make more with their money," said Kujawa.

Unlike healthcare and paid time off, employers posting family benefits is still rare. According to Indeed, only 7% of job listings mention family benefits, which is an increase from 2.5% in 2020.
