THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - Thomasville is marking a milestone as the city celebrates its 200th anniversary with a free, family-friendly bicentennial event on Saturday, Jan. 24.
City leaders said the event is designed to bring residents of all ages together to honor Thomasville’s history and culture.
April Norton, the city’s managing director of marketing and communications, said the celebration is for everyone.
More news out of South Georgia:
“It’s so important that we truly honor our history and, with that, inspire our future,” Norton said. “We are inviting our entire community to come out, support and be a part of this.”
The celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ritz Amphitheater and will feature live music from the Emerald Empire Band, food trucks, children’s activities and booths with community partners.
