Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Leaders in the city of Albany will meet at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, to discuss a possible voting precinct location change.
The proposed change is due to construction at the current Precinct 17 Bill Miller Community Center location. The new proposed polling location is Precinct 26 ASU East Lovett Hall, located at 109 Joseph Holley Circle. According to officials, this new polling location is 1.74 miles away from the current precinct location.
According to Dougherty County Board of Registration and Elections, a meeting will be held at the Government Center Building located at 222 Pine Avenue in room 100 to discuss the change.
If approved, this would be implemented for the following elections:
- General Primary/Nonpartisan Election - May 19, 2026
- General Primary/Nonpartisan Runoff - June 16, 2026
- General/Special Election - November 3, 2026
- General/Special Runoff - December 1, 2026
