SYLVESTER, Ga. (WALB) - The city of Sylvester will be opening a comfort station ahead of the inclement weather.
A First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning.
The station will operate out of the Train Depot, located at 102 South Main Street.
The comfort station will be open on the following days and times:
- Monday, Jan. 20, from 7 p.m. until 9 a.m.
- Tuesday, Jan. 21, from 4 p.m. until 9 a.m.
- Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 7 p.m. until 9 a.m.
- Thursday, Jan. 23, from 7 p.m. until 9 a.m.
- Friday, Jan. 24, from 7 p.m. until 9 a.m.
- Saturday, Jan. 25, from 7 p.m. until 9 a.m.
The city asks that people bring blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, medications, non-perishable foods, and any necessary personal items. Chairs, tables, and restrooms will be available.
Drugs, alcohol, and weapons are not permitted on the premises. Anyone who is under the influence will be asked to leave.
