VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Three juveniles were taken into custody early Monday morning after a citizen’s quick action led officers to stop an attempted vehicle break-in.
On July 14, 2025, at around 1:45 a.m., Valdosta Police Officers responded to the Spanish Mission Apartments in the 400 block of Connell Road after a 911 call reported three juveniles appearing to break into a vehicle.
According to VPD, while officers were canvassing the area, a Lowndes County Deputy reported seeing three males running from him at Evergreen Apartments on Garden Drive. Officers and deputies coordinated a foot pursuit and quickly apprehended two of the suspects—a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old—recovering evidence linking them to the theft at Spanish Mission Apartments.
The third suspect, a 14-year-old, was identified but initially evaded capture. A few hours later, the juvenile’s mother brought him to the Valdosta Police Department, where he was turned over to officers.
All three juveniles were charged with the following:
- Theft by entering auto (felony)
- Obstruction of an officer (misdemeanor)
- Unruly juvenile/curfew violation (misdemeanor)
Following the arrests, the Department of Juvenile Justice authorized the release of the juveniles to their parents.
