BROOKS COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Rafael Mojica scored two free kicks in the final minutes to send Brooks County to their first ever Final Four.
Mojica converted the kicks during the team’s playoff matchup this week.
“It felt great. It felt way different from any year I’ve been in,” Mojica said. “It felt different. It felt the first time ever like nobody had their head down on the field.”
Mojica said the team stayed disciplined throughout the match.
“I just hope everybody keep their heads up. If I can score, anybody can score,” Mojica said. “I’m glad we can put Brooks County on the map in soccer. I’m glad.”
Mojica credited the coaching, perseverance and team atmosphere for the historic achievement.
