MOULTRIE, Ga. (WALB) – So Danca, a Brazilian dancewear company, is opening a new 80,000 square foot distribution center in Moultrie Friday, June 20 at 9 a.m.

The move marks a major expansion from their former 20,000-square foot facility in South Florida, where the company operated for 28 years.

“In two months, we were able to get a warehouse, which is this one here now. In three months, they were able to renovate the whole place and turn it into a beautiful distribution center,” said Lisias Ransan, President and CEO.

So Danca has provided dancewear to the industry’s biggest names including the New York City Ballet, the Rockettes, Disney and the San Francisco Ballet.

“We see quality from the beginning of the project to the delivery, to the arrival of the product of the store. We see quality in every single step,” continued Ransan.

So Danca executives said they pride themselves on running a family business. They moved five employees and their families from South Florida. The rest of the company’s employees are new hires from Southwest Georgia.

“When people start with us at the company, they seldom leave. And if they do leave, they leave for a little while and then come back because it’s such a wonderful place to be,” said Helena Hines, the company’s COO.

After expanding their facility from 20,000 to 80,000 square feet, So Danca has plans to expand the local economy as well. The warehouse renovations were all completed by local contractors, and the company said they will nearly double their number of employees by July.

“We are committed to the local community. We are committed to the people of Moultrie. We want them to be valued and appreciated for what they do for us. That’s why we created a family environment where our employees can thrive,” Ransan added.
