BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) — Markavion Johnson-Smith signed with Allen University on Thursday to continue his football career as a linebacker.

Johnson-Smith has played multiple positions for the Bainbridge Bearcat football team but will focus on linebacker at the Division II program in Columbia, South Carolina.

He said the coaching staff set the Yellow Jackets apart from other programs.

Johnson-Smith said signing in front of his teammates, family and friends was special and the result of hard work.

“It was very worth it to get to this point. To get to Allen University, to get the opportunity to shine in front of everybody. I was very happy. Everything turned out well. I’m just very thankful to be in this position that I am,” Johnson-Smith said.
