BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) - A Bainbridge mother is asking for community support as her 6-year-old daughter awaits a heart transplant at Children’s Hospital of Atlanta.

Ayah Perkins has been battling Acute Decompensated Heart Failure since birth, according to her mother, Kierra Powell.

Powell said Ayah is currently on the heart donor list, but her condition continues to worsen.

The family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical expenses related to Ayah’s treatment and transplant process.
