Description
CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. (KOMO) — Authorities are intensifying their search for Travis Decker, the father suspected of killing his three young daughters before going on the run in rural Chelan County, and warn that he may have changed his appearance to ward off detection.
On Tuesday the Chelan County Sheriff's Office confirmed that multiple agencies continue to collaborate and conduct extensive ground and aerial searches.

"Personnel are deployed throughout the region and backcountry areas of Chelan and Kittitas Counties following up on leads and searching for signs of Mr. Decker," said a CCSO spokesperson.
The CCSO also released a flyer with three composite mock-up images of how Decker may look after changing his hair or mustache.
The search operations are ongoing around the clock, with CCSO detectives developing the criminal case, conducting interviews, and processing evidence.
The CCSO said the KCSO has been instrumental in providing resources for the search, particularly with their expertise in locating suspects in wooded areas.
The U.S. Marshals Service is leading the search for Decker, conducting investigations, and deploying specialized personnel. They are offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to Decker's arrest. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
The KCSO has also asked anyone who has trail or doorbell cameras to check them for suspicious activity. Anyone with homes in the areas is asked to check them for anything missing, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem.
Despite the intensive search efforts, CCSO assures the public that there is no immediate threat to safety in the region. "To our knowledge, all trails and recreation sites managed by the U.S. Forest Service remain open to the public," said the spokesperson. However, the public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
A TikTok video falsely claiming Decker's capture has been circulating, but authorities confirm that Decker is not in custody. Anyone with information on Decker's whereabouts is urged to contact the nearest U.S. Marshals office or call 911 immediately.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Local and federal law enforcement have been searching for the 32-year-old father from the air and on the ground after the bodies of his daughters, 5-year-old Olivia Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker, and 9-year-old Paityn Decker, were discovered on June 2.
The bodies of all three girls were found about 75 to 100 yards away down an embankment, and investigators noted zip ties and plastic bags were scattered throughout the area. Their manner of death was later confirmed as homicide.
The girls were first reported missing after Decker failed to return them to their mother as part of their court-ordered visitation plan. After the discovery of their bodies, he was charged with murder and kidnapping.
Decker, homeless at the time of the killings and noted to struggle with PTSD and mental health issues, was not permitted to take the girls out of the Wenatchee area or for overnight stays per the court order. Decker was also an Army veteran with extensive training in wilderness survival.
Court documents obtained by KOMO News say Decker Google searched “how does a person move to Canada,” “how to relocate to Canada,” and “jobs Canada” in the days before he kidnapped his daughters.
The same documents state that Decker is a “well-versed outdoorsman” and “frequently engaged in hiking, camping, survival skill practice, hunting, and even lived off the grid in the backwoods for approximately 2.5 months on one occasion.”
The U.S. Marshals Service wrote in the federal court documents that the Decker sisters were found at a campground about 11 miles from the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). The PCT is a well-established trail that runs along the entire west coast of the U.S. from Mexico to Canada. The trail ends at the northern border.
Authorities believe Decker may be hiding out or moving through rural backcountry areas, and continue to focus their searches in those areas.
It is currently unknown if Decker is armed, but authorities said he should be considered armed and dangerous. Authorities described Decker as white, around 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and dark shorts.
