Description
SOUTH GEORGIA, (WALB) - A Heat Advisory has been issued for portions of central, east central, north central, northeast, northwest, southeast, and west central Georgia.
Including the following South Georgia counties: Crisp, Dooly, Stewart, Sumter, Webster, and Wilcox.
Heat index values are expected to reach up to 109°F, creating dangerous conditions for outdoor activities.
The advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. this evening.

The combination of high temperatures and humidity may lead to heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Residents are advised to:
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
- Avoid strenuous activities during peak heat hours.
- Seek air-conditioned environments if possible.
- Check on elderly neighbors, young children, and pets.
- Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.
