ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Books-A-Million is making its presence known at the Albany Square shopping center and some say this store is a night and day difference from their previous store inside the Albany Mall.

“I love the layout and wide-open spaces of this store; it feels a little bit more open and there are more selections,” said Anna Dunne and Olivia Dunne, customers.

Speaking of more selections, Books-A-Million’s new location is 3,000 square feet bigger. The general manager, Bailey Hallman-Smith, believes it will give the team more space for books and events.

“We are already planning more book signings; we are going to have a bunch more authors. Local authors doing book signings and classes. Those are already in the works. Being a new location, Books A Million is going to bring those people to us, we don’t have to reach out,” Hallman-Smith said.

With the other popular businesses surrounding Books-A-Million, they have seen a huge increase in traffic.

”It started when we first opened, and it hasn’t died back down. I think with Bath and Body Works, Crumble, and Publix we are still a destination spot for sure,” Hallman-Smith said.

As one business finds success away from the Albany Mall, the mall’s manager says Academy Sports is set to open in October and a Home Suites by Hilton is in the works.
