ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - One person was taken into custody following a burglary at Slappey Smoke Shop on Friday, Jan. 3.
When Albany Police officers arrived at the Slappey Smoke Shop, an employee said when he arrived, he noticed the cash register open, on the floor, and several items were missing, according to a release by Albany Police.
Investigators obtained surveillance footage, which showed two suspects taking several items.
One of the suspects was identified as Daroyl Askew, 33, according to the release.
While officers were patrolling the area, they located Askew and placed him in custody.
He was later interviewed and charged with burglary. He is currently at the Dougherty County Jail.
Investigators are still on the lookout for the second suspect involved in this incident.
