Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Albany Fire Department (AFD) will begin conducting fire hydrant inspections on Monday, Feb. 10.
The city says, the goal of hydrant testing is to ensure a reliable water source in the event of a fire, verify the operation of the hydrant, and identify areas of the distribution system that may need maintenance or repair. During the inspection process, the water could temporarily become cloudy or discolored. However, this does not diminish its safety. If your water is discolored, please allow your cold water tap to run for a few minutes or until it runs clear.
The City of Albany is working hard to ensure the public’s safety.
Motorists are also strongly advised to drive slowly and use caution when in the vicinity of crews.
