LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Cheers, smiles, and a sense of pride filled the air Saturday, March 28 as I AM B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Future Queens Inc. officially unveiled its adopted street sign in Valdosta.

The ceremony, held March 28 along North Patterson Street, marked a major milestone for the mentoring program, recognizing years of impact in the lives of young girls across Lowndes County.

A moment years in the making

Founder and CEO Ursula Clark stood alongside families, community leaders, and the young girls at the heart of the program as the sign was revealed — a symbol of growth, purpose, and perseverance.

The newly designated street now carries the organization’s name, serving as a permanent reminder of the program’s mission to empower girls to become confident, purpose-driven leaders.

More than a sign

For many in attendance, the moment was emotional.

Clark described the unveiling as more than recognition.

“This is more than a sign… it’s a symbol,” she said. “It represents the impact our girls are making and the legacy they are building in this community.”

The celebration also coincided with the organization’s five-year anniversary, highlighting its continued growth and expanding influence across South Georgia.

Building future leaders

Through mentorship, workshops, and service, I AM B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Future Queens continues to guide girls through every stage of development:

• Rubies (Grades 2–5): Building confidence and self-worth

• Pearls (Grades 6–8): Navigating change and developing resilience

• Diamonds (High School): Leading with purpose and preparing for the future

Participants are taught leadership, emotional intelligence, and the importance of giving back — lessons that were on full display during Saturday’s celebration.

Community impact on display

The City of Valdosta and Valdosta City Schools joined in recognizing the organization’s contributions, as supporters gathered to celebrate not just a sign, but a movement.

Girls wearing matching shirts stood proudly beside the sign, some smiling, others reflecting — all part of a program that continues to shape their confidence and identity.

From community service projects to mentorship and academic support, leaders say the program’s impact reaches far beyond this one moment.

A lasting legacy

Saturday’s unveiling now leaves a permanent mark on the city — one that future generations will see daily.

For the young girls in the program, it’s a reminder that their voices matter.
