Description
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Four parents in Boise were arrested over the weekend and charged with felony injury to a child after the Boise Police began investigating an unrelated issue.
According to BPD, around 11:00 am on Saturday, April 12, officers arrived at a residence on W. Amherst Dr. to investigate an unrelated incident. While at the home, officers found "that it posed a serious risk to the health and safety of three children living at the home."
Officers say they found a "strong, putrid odor emanating from the house," along with multiple open trash bags containing empty alcohol containers, dirty diapers, and spoiled food. An unsecured firearm and several other unsanitary or dangerous concerns were found in the home, according to BPD.
Haley Boatwright and Justen Frisch live in the home with two children, along with Mia Funk and Brandon Boatwright and their one child. All four parents have been charged with Felony Injury to a Child, and the three children have been taken into custody by Health and Welfare.
Another adult, Philip John Toolson, was also arrested on a warrant for injury to a child by the Ada County Sheriff's Office, but police say the warrant and arrest stem from a separate incident involving Toolson.
