Description
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Blue Ops will build a new manufacturing facility in Valdosta, bringing more than 200 jobs to Lowndes County over the next several years, Gov. Brian Kemp announced.
The company plans to invest $30 million into the project, leasing a former boat manufacturing site on Gil Harbin Industrial Boulevard.
Blue Ops, part of Red Cat Holdings, will produce uncrewed surface vessels used for defense and national security.
The project could bring up to 100 jobs as soon as next year, with more expected as production ramps up, officials said.
Leaders in Valdosta said the move strengthens the region’s growing presence in high-tech manufacturing.
