Description
COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The 28th annual Shop with a Cop event was held yesterday in Coffee County, marking a record-breaking year for the program. A total of 188 children participated, the largest turnout since the event began.
The annual event paired children with local law enforcement officers for a holiday shopping experience designed to foster positive relationships and support families in the community. Officers from multiple agencies spent the evening shopping one-on-one with children, laughing, talking, and walking aisle to aisle together.
Organizers said the event would not have been possible without the support of community sponsors and donors, whose generosity funded gifts and helped create a memorable night for participating families.
Sheriff Fred Cole said that Shop with a Cop remains one of the most meaningful events of the year, reflecting the strong connection between law enforcement and the Coffee County community.
