ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - One person was shot after a fight that happened at Big Daddy’s Lounge early Sunday morning. Albany police are currently looking for the shooter.

On Sunday around 3:58 a.m., police responded to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in reference to a person being shot. It was then determined that the person was shot around the area of East Oglethorpe Boulevard, near Big Daddy’s Lounge.

Michael Persley, Albany Police Chief, said before the shooting, a large fight broke out inside the Lounge. As the fight was breaking up and people were leaving, an unknown person(s) started shooting outside the location.

The victim who was shot is currently in stable condition.

Right now no arrests have been made. Police are investigating the incident by using surveillance including a video circling online that shows the fight that happened before the shooting.

During APD’s Media Monday, Persley shared a strong message to the community concerning gun violence.

“So please Albany, please Dougherty County, have these conversations. have the courage to go in front of these young males and even, there’s some young females carrying these weapons. Have these conversations to go out there and say enough is enough,” he said. " We don’t need to have any more funerals for young people. We don’t need to have any funerals for people who were just innocent bystanders. We don’t need to have any funerals for anyone just to have a face on a t-shirt. Let’s stop making excuses and let’s start saving lives. And sometimes it just starts with us.”
