ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - There is no lack of events and things to do in South Georgia over the weekend.
Below is a list of events happening in South Georgia:
Friday, February 7
- Chehaw Park and Zoo is holding it’s monthly Cubs Program from 10-11 a.m. Children ages 3-4 are able to participate in specifically tailored events that include a hands-on animal experience, a craft, and an animal-related story. The programs are free with zoo admission and free for members.
- The First Friday: Chili Crawl from 5-8 p.m. is Downtown Americus’ kickoff event of 2025. The Annual Chili Crawl competition allows people to sample various chilis and vote on their favorites. - Wellness Haven Co. is inviting the public out to relax, rejuvenate, and have fun as it celebrates its new location, located at 213 S. Grant St. in Fitzgerald. From 5-8 p.m., guests can tour the new space and learn more about what the business offers.
- The Hunt Dinner & Silent Auction will be held at the Arts Center of Moultrie at 5:30 p.m. New this year, guests can enjoy dueling piano performances as they enjoy a wild game-inspired meal with a full bar. This year, participants can also compete for much sought-after items at the silent auction. Prizes range from fine art pieces and one-in-a-lifetime travel experiences.
- Night to Shine will be held at Byne Christian School in Albany starting at 5:30 p.m. Every VIP guest is paired with a trained Buddy who will help them experience a night full of fun. To register to volunteer at Night to Shine, click here.
- Hubs and Hops will be hosting a free concert, at 209 W. Remington Ave. in Thomasville, from 7-9 p.m. featuring The Leftovers. Along with the Hubs & Hops kitchen, a food truck will be on site.
Saturday, February 8
- Hubs and Hops is inviting the public to the Thomasville Clay Road Classic bike ride and circuit race event at Pebble Hill Plantation from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The event will benefit the Pebble Hill Preservation Fund. The gates open at 7 a.m. Gate entry for spectators is $10 per person or $50 per vehicle. Grassroots Coffee and Chicken Delite will be on site offering coffee and breakfast. No outside food, drinks, or coolers are allowed on the grounds. Live music begins on the main stage at 11:30 a.m.
- The Douglas-Coffee County Animal Shelter is hosting its first adoption event of 2025 at the Walmart on Bowens Mill Road SE from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
- The Albany Museum of Art is holding the Valentine’s Art Mart from 10 am. until 2 p.m. Explore free exhibitions and the playroom at the museum, tasty treats from local food trucks, and locally crafted one-of-a-kind jewlery. To register as a vendor, click here.
- CASA of Lowndes and Echols are holding a Barbie’s Dream Brunch from 10 am. until noon at Downtown Social in Valdosta. Tickets are $100 each and include brunch and two drinks. Bid at the silent auction, shop Sisterology, and build a custom hat with Boardwalk Valdosta. To puchase ticket, email [email protected].
- Temp Coffee and Haley Hardin West are collaborating to host the Valentines Pop-up from 2-5 p.m. at 1420 US highway 19 S in Leesburg. Several local vendors will be participating including Brittany Bakes, Love Kouture, and Acccio Books.
- The Patterson Valdosta, located at 101 S. Patterson St., is holding a Father Daughter Dance from 6-8 p.m. Tickets are $50 for a father and one daughter, $70 for a father and two daughters, and $90 for a father and three daughters. Ticket sales end at 8 p.m. on Feb. 8.
- Riff Johnson will be stopping at the Oglethorpe Lounge in Albany as part of his “ALIVE in 2025″ tour. The one man band with a taste for 80s and 90s retro and some new equipment to help the music come to life. Sunday, February 9
- Big Nick’s will be holding a party buffet for the LIX Super Bowl at 6 p.m. between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Enjoy games, raffles, big prizes and more.
- As a part of Georgia History Festival’s statewide celebration of “Super Museum Sunday,” Pebble Hill Plantation will be offering free admission to tour the historic grounds and outbuildings.
