VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A Valdosta man is facing multiple charges after police say he fired a gun dozens of times outside an apartment complex over the weekend.
According to the Valdosta Police Department, officers responded Saturday to reports of a man shooting a gun into the air at Cumberland Court Apartments.
When the first officer arrived on scene, they found 25-year-old Jeremiah Alston standing in front of the apartment with a handgun. Police say Alston dropped the weapon and was taken into custody without further incident.
During the investigation, officers determined Alston was intoxicated and had been involved in an argument with a woman prior to the shooting. Authorities say that during the dispute, he began firing the weapon.
Police report that nearly 40 spent shell casings were recovered from the apartment complex parking lot.
Alston is now facing multiple charges, including reckless conduct. Officials have not reported any injuries related to the incident.
