VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Christmas is now over, and you may be wondering what to do with your Christmas tree.
Well, the city of Valdosta is hosting it’s annual “Bring One for the Chipper” Christmas tree recycling event. The event allows Valdosta residents to dispose of their Christmas trees in an environmentally friendly way.
The event starts Friday, Dec. 27 and will last until Friday, Jan. 3.
Trees can be dropped off at the Five Points Shopping Center located at 3101-3109 North Ashley Street or placed by the curb on your scheduled sanitation day.
The trees collected during this event will be recycled into mulch and potting soil to support the city’s waste management initiatives.
Artificial trees are not accepted. Be sure to remove all lights, decorations, and stands before dropping off trees.
