Description
COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. — Two women are facing multiple shoplifting charges after a retail theft spree, according to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office identified them as 40-year-old Tawanda Tucker and 44-year-old Amanda Nelson.
Investigators say Nelson distracted a clerk while Tucker loaded a cart with laundry detergent, air fresheners and other items at the Dollar General on Highway 158 East, then left without paying.
Deputies later tied the pair to similar thefts in Pearson, Alma, and Willacoochee, including a felony shoplifting case in which the stolen merchandise exceeded $500.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation is still active and more charges are possible.
